As Above "Think of a word that has some sort of meaning in a business context, however vague or trivial. Add the letter "e" to the front. Search for that new word in Google. Try and find a word that gets zero results. It cannot be done."
I was thoroughly disgusted to find that there's even "eProactive". I don't know of anything more sad & disturbing.
WashingtonPost.com : The GOP Home Shopping Network "That most lamentable duct tape suggestion last week by a Homeland Security official -- which drove countless panicked citizens out to buy the product -- has been widely derided as useless and pretty crazy. But maybe not so crazy. Turns out that nearly half -- 46 percent to be precise -- of the duct tape sold in this country is manufactured by a company in Avon, Ohio. And the founder of that company, that would be Jack Kahl, gave how much to the Republican National Committee and other GOP committees in the 2000 election cycle? Would that be more than $100,000?"
My question is, will Red Green be touched by this scandal? Or does his being Canadian make him immune to such implications? haha.
Extreme Ironing Bureau "The latest danger sport that combines the thrills of an extreme outdoor activity with the satisfaction of a well pressed shirt."
Now this is a combo I would never mix myself. I'm not into risking my life needlessly, particularly not in combination with a chore I avoid doing at all, even in the comfort of my own home. heh. (link via wasted-bits)
CNN.com - Couple sues over sex, interrupted "A German couple are demanding compensation from a tour operator because a maid repeatedly interrupted them while they were having sex in their hotel room during a vacation in Cuba, a court spokesman said Wednesday." (link via ThatWeasel.com, where the blogger wonders if he can sue his college roommate)
Should we raise the age boys can join the military?
ABCNews.com : Danger Underfoot, Deadly Snakes and Insects Pose Natural Hazard for Soldiers in Iraq Harkins says these tips are included in Army briefings as well as general "snake-smart behavior." "Our policy is don't mess with any snake. Just assume it's dangerous," he said. "Don't play with them and don't try and show off with one. That's when you get hurt."
I can see parents telling their children this... Although I grew up in the country and I never really considered "playing with" or "showing off with" a snake as a kid, and I was quite the 'tomboy' too. (link via medpundit)
Harry Shearer & Amy G.
Last week, my friend Amy sent this photo to me. And on Friday evening, Fresh Air aired an old interview with Harry Shearer from 1992. I am inundated w/ Harry Shearer.
After some goldfish go mysteriously missing, paranormal causes are suspected, and Cat Mulder & Kitty Scully are there to investigate the matter. Seen here, they pose for an impromptu photograph during their investigation, caught interviewing the remaining goldfish in the fishbowl.
Google-Watch, Google as Big Brother "Google's free toolbar for Explorer phones home with every page you surf. Yes, it reads your cookie too, and sends along the last search terms you used in the toolbar... Google wants to hire more people with security clearances, so that they can peddle their corporate assets to the spooks in Washington."
The government should be able to research who's been typing "information on vaginal yeast infections" into the Google search engine. After all, women with yeast infections are more likely to be angry & bitchy, and therefore, in that weakened emotional state, would be more vulnerable to terrorist brainwashing.
In fact, the government ought to keep a record of who's typing a lot of pornography search terms into Google. There should be a database of who's spending their time looking at pornography. People ought to have to register with the government how often they have sex, in fact. There should be a database made available to employers to use when making their hiring decisions. I mean, some people have sex more than once a week. Some even right before going to work! Who wants to hire a pervert that's doing stuff like that?
There should also be a government database keeping track of these criminals who oppose abortion rights laws. There are many on the web that aren't discreet about their anti-Americanism at all! I mean, abortion is legal. That's treason! These people are likely to become terrorists if they're actually against things legal in the U.S.!
Apparently Google can help with all this.
