What are we in Antarctica? What season is it already???
Today, John D. said to me, "Snow! No snow!"
And I said, "It's April 28th and sunny, there's no snow. Why are you complaining?"
And John said, "It snowed last night."
And I said, "Hmm. I thought that rain on the turnpike last night was kind of strange."
And John laughed and said, "That's because it was SNOW!"
I was driving home to Scranton from Allentown last night on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. And somewhere between the Lehigh Valley Tunnel and Hazleton, I hit such torrential rain - I thought - that I was hydroplaning - or perhaps sliding - and I could barely see the road in front of me for the rain - or I guess snow - and had to slow down to 50mph for a good 15 minutes or so. I think it did briefly cross my mind - Is this snow? - because it was so white in my headlights. I knew it wasn't hail because it wasn't bouncing off my windshield in pitter-patters. But I immediately dismissed the thought. And of course, within a few minutes, it was more "normal" torrential rain. heh.
I totally didn't expect to hit snow at all on the road, not on April 27th. Heck, I was anxious to get my snow tires off my car towards the end of March, and a few people told me to wait until April 1st. I waited til April 15th and thought that was kind of late. There's buds on the trees! John's right, NO SNOW!! We can't have more snow. I'm done with winter. I want to speak to the manager.
Kerpovich Sanitation garbage truck in Pringle Borough, Pennsylvania, March 30th 2004.
This is a photo of the garbage truck, after having picked up a sizable amount of rubbish and junk I cleaned out of my attic before I moved last month. (posted for Photo Friday, "Junk")
My uncle Tony, who my mother has always said I take after (it's her brother), has been deployed to Iraq with the National Guard. This photo was posted on the Scranton Times Tribune web site. It's a photo of my uncle taking a photo of the photographer, Michael Mullen.
"SFC Anthony Maszeroski, Archbald, takes a photo on board a C-130 enroute from Ali al Salem Airforce Base, to Baghdad, March 25th 2004. Photograph by Michael Mullen, Scranton Times Tribune."
I might be going with my aunt Rosie to visit him in a few months. Not in Baghdad, of course. Apparently probably in Qatar.
I have some photos from the send-off at the Scranton Armory, and a little mpeg movie from that day in January among my on-line Movie Files.
I made this collage the year before last and had it printed for my mother & sisters. All of the photos are of me, taken by me.
This is me with one of Lisa's Jack Russell Terrier puppies in Loyalville. I called him Piggly Wiggly. He got a new name when he got a home.
I have a section in my on-line photo album of just photos of me, and actually, now thinking about it, a great many of them are self portraits. I wouldn't have very many photos of myself at all otherwise. heh. (posted for Photo Friday, "Self Portrait")

I don't need to hang onto resentments from my past dealings with him, because he has a seemingly endless supply of comments & behaviour to keep anyone pissed in the contemporary.
