A sign reading, "What happens in Luzerne stays in Luzerne." outside Dugan's in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, June 19th 2005
Is this really a city slogan anyone in their right mind would want their town to adopt?
Well, maybe it's just me, but Las Vegas is actually one city on the planet I could live the rest of my life happy without ever visiting.
The slogan's also probably highly inaccurate there too, considering it's, in many ways, "a small world" here in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and what you do at Dugan's in Luzerne is probably going to get around to all the... similar drinking establishments in Luzerne & the surrounding towns, among everyone who also patronizes these 'watering holes'.
Frankly, I'm sick to death of hearing about Las Vegas & especially that slogan.
This is firckin' hilarious, if I hear about one more "Las Vegas night" or "Vegas bingo" or "Vegas style" anything, I swear, I'll scream. And I hate to say it, but what happens in Luzerne doesn't stay in Luzerne, remember the presidential campaign visits to the area? Both Kerry and Bush were here... a LOT. heh So insignificant and yet so important are we here.

They change that sign all the time. So you should check it often.
And speaking of Vegas... it really is a wonderful town. I've been there twice. Even if you don't gamble, there is plenty to see and do. Honestly, there is no other city like it in the world. It it one of my favorite spots in this country.

Jeanie: Sounds like someone has had a good time in Luzerne. HAHAHA!! (Just kidding.)
Lee Ann: Yeah, well, I'm aware there's more to Las Vegas than the seedy side of things. My friend Leslie and my mother seem to like it, and they're not into gambling, nor certainly not drugs, or indiscriminate sexuality. haha.
But even what they talk about liking about it, doesn't seem to be my style.
So as far as I'm concerned, the only thing worth noting about Las Vegas is that it's the brightest place on earth seen from space. haha!!

And yeah, I used to drive past Dugan's fairly regularly, though not so much now...
