WNEP - Salt Supplies Dwindling In Our Area A quick check by Newswatch 16 found communities in our area that are having a very difficult time filling up their piles of rock salt. Demand is high because of the snowy and icy winter we've had.
I knew it! Just the other morning, I was driving to work... at 8a.m., it wasn't super early... and the streets in Edwardsville & even Kingston were a mess of ice. And actually Forty Fort, Wyoming, and Exeter seemed much, much better. I didn't think it could've been any warmer there. And I said to someone, in my frustration with this persistant winter, "It's like Edwardsville has run out of salt & cinders or something!" Because the roads just aren't being cleared like they were before, like I know they can be. And it sounds like the towns really are running out!
