Residents of the 11th Congressional District will have to tune into WVIA on Thursday, October 24 at 9:30 p.m. if they want to watch the only currently scheduled televised debate between Democratic Incumbent Paul Kanjorski, Republican Lou Barletta and Reform Candidate Tom McLaughlin.
The debate will be simulcast on WVIA FM. Residents who miss the live debate can watch the rebroadcasts scheduled for Saturday, October 26 at 10 p.m. and Sunday October 27 at 3 p.m.

..............
From the piece I heard on WVIA radio this morning, Democrat Kanjorski's top issue seems to be medicare, while Republican Barletta & Reform Party McLaughlin both seem focused on jobs.

Go On And Laugh
I don't know if anyone has had the chance to check out one of the many local performance of Scott Bruce's Wise Crackers Comedy Clubs, but if you haven't made your way to one, you need to go. A group of us went this past Saturday to The Brass Rail Restaurant and Saloon in Wilkes-Barre and had a great time, so great we're going back. I have to admit I haven't laughed that hard in ages and if I'm not mistaken the event is 21 and over with a mere $10 cover. There's plenty to drink and the appetizers came at just the right price. A word of warning though, if you can't take a joke don't sit at a front table.
You have your choice of 4 different locations:
· The Brass Rail Restaurant and Saloon, Wilkes-Barre
· Marvelous Muggs, Moosic
· The Clarion Hotel, Scranton
· Howard Johnson's, Bartonsville
